PEOPLE planning to visit Loch Lomond over the summer months are being warned to do so responsibly.
It comes as Police Scotland has launched Operation Balaton.
This is a multi-agency partnership that pulls together resources to provide a coordinated response to incidents within popular tourist locations.
What agencies are involved in Operation Balaton?
- Police Scotland
- Scottish Fire & Rescue
- British Transport Police
- West Dunbartonshire Council
- Argyll & Bute Council
- National Park
- ScotRail
Operation Balaton focuses on reducing the impact of anti-social behaviour, alcohol consumption, and promoting water safety by providing a “robust, proportionate, and effective response”.
Officers said they have been planning their response and will continue to have a presence within parks and communities during this period.
It is hoped this partnership will maximise policing capabilities to ensure that Loch Lomond remains a safe place to visit and enjoy.
