A WARRANT for a man’s arrest has been requested after he failed to show up for his court hearing.

Andrew Brown had previously pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to acting in an abusive manner towards his ex-partner on September 13 last year at his former home address in Tontine Park.

He swore at her, ordered her to leave the property and sent her text messages which included a threatening comment.

The 29-year-old, now of Braehead, Alexandria, also admitted to breaking a bail condition set by the town's court on the same date to not contact or communicate with his former partner.

He broke the condition on November 27 at a property on Ardoch Crescent in Dumbarton by being in direct contact with her.

The offender was due to appear for sentencing on June 6 where Sheriff Maxwell Hendry addressed defence solicitor Scott Adair about the lack of attendance at the hearing.

The sheriff said: "It is not a very encouraging [social work] report. I think we better get him back in the system by a traditional method."

A warrant for his arrest was ordered and granted.
