A WOMAN slapped her boyfriend over a relationship dispute at a family party.

Lee-Anne McDonald was with her partner when they attended a property in Redburn for the celebration on June 24 last year.

However, whilst the pair were heavily drunk an argument broke out over their relationship.

Fiscal depute Laura Martin said: "Both parties consumed a large amount of alcohol and ended up heavily intoxicated. The accused and the complainer ended up in an argument over their relationship.

"During this disagreement, the accused slapped the complainer on the face.

"The following morning police were contacted for different reasons and later attended and spoke to the complainer and the accused."

The 32-year-old, of O'Hare, Bonhill, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court this week for sentencing after she previously pleaded guilty to assaulting her now ex-partner by slapping him on the face.

Scott Adair, defending, said: "The case was previously deferred for good behaviour. It was stated that she would be admonished if she stayed on good behaviour.

"There has been no contact with [the victim] since the offence and does not wish to make contact with him. She has moved on since then."

Sheriff Lindsey Kooner said: "Sheriff Pettigrew previously deferred sentence for you to be of good behaviour and you have demonstrated that you have complied with that. I am satisfied that I can simply admonish you to bring the matter to an end.

"I am satisfied that the relationship is over and feel it is not necessary to apply a non-harassment order."

The sheriff admonished McDonald.
