A MUCH-LOVED Dumbarton print and photograph shop has announced it’s closing its doors after over three decades of serving in the town.

Photo Ecosse on High Street – affectionately known as ‘the photo shop’ – said an emotional goodbye on social media on Monday morning after 34 years.

It will close for good on Saturday, February 10.

In the post, Photo Ecosse – run by Iain Wilson -  told customers: “We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our customers, who have supported us over this time.

“It is with a huge amount of emotion that we say goodbye.

“We wish all of our customers and people of Dumbarton and surrounding area our best wishes for the future.”

Locals from across the area shared their sorrow at the news and wished Iain and the rest of the Photo Ecosse team the best of luck for the future.

One said under the Facebook post: “I wish you well in whatever you do next. The town will be a poorer place without you. Good luck my friend.”

Another wrote: “Hugely friendly and appreciated company, (for a good four years or so, I was in there every fortnight with disposable cameras for developing). Good luck Iain and team - thank you for always serving with a smile.”

A third commented: “Really sorry to hear this, great shop and staff always willing to help you get the best outcome from your photos. Will be missed, all the best.”
