Dumbarton manager Stevie Aitken felt his side should have come away from Morton with all three points after drawing 1-1 on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead via a Derek Gaston own goal but were pegged back by Kudus Oyenuga.

The Sons were denied a penalty as Robert Thomson was brought down and then, towards the end of the game, had a goal disallowed.

Aitken said: “It was a clear penalty, you can hear the coming-together. And then to chalk that goal off – the linesman’s given it from 25 yards away, even Jim [Duffy] said nothing was wrong with it.

“These things level out over the course of the season. It’s disappointing as we felt as if we should have had three points, and even at the other end they had two chances that might have went against us, but the players didn’t deserve that.

“If someone said to you before the game you’d come to Cappielow and take a point, you would probably take it but for large periods of the first half we were well ahead, knew they were going to come at us and we conceded a sloppy goal.

Captain Darren Barr was back on the bench for Dumbarton and Aitken said he is likely to be in contention to start against Falkirk next week, but Frazer Wright and Garry Fleming will still be out for a few weeks.

He added: “Garry trained on Thursday, so he’ll maybe be a couple of weeks away. He’ll need to build it back up again as obviously he’s lost a wee bit with being out.

“Frazer Wright is maybe a wee bit longer than that, Darren Barr is now available.”
